Her work experiences with Missouri Department of Family Services-Children's Division, as well as other social service agencies prepared her to face the many socioeconomic issues that are having an impact on our youth today. When she transitioned into the education, she realized there was a large achievement gap that needed to be filled. While working as a guidance counselor for St. Louis Public School District, she saw how students were eager and excited to expand their knowledge of learning. Their eagerness allowed her to use many of the resources from her social service background to infuse into the guidance counseling realm.
